UPPER SCHOOL ACADEMIC HUBS

Hampstead Academy recognizes, celebrates, and cultivates the unique potential of each individual student. Students progress at their own pace within a structured academic framework supported by an Individual Learning Plan (ILP), which tracks growth, sets goals, and guides progress throughout the year. This intentional structure allows for deeper understanding and mastery of core language, mathematics, and essential social and analytical skills.

In Upper School, this approach expands through guided individual and team-based projects, internships, enrichment courses, and elective offerings that allow students to explore personal interests and broaden their abilities. Several times throughout the year, students participate in expeditionary learning experiences beyond campus, connecting classroom study to authentic real-world environments.

Upper School students graduate with the skills, confidence, and academic foundation necessary to transition smoothly to the next stage of their educational journey.

Learning Through Experience, Project-Based Learning

As students mature, increasingly independent, immersive, and experiential project-based learning opportunities are introduced, allowing them to put foundational skills into practice in meaningful, real-world contexts. Students are encouraged to design, plan, and execute projects that integrate their academic knowledge with practical problem-solving and collaboration. Projects are designed to connect multiple disciplines, enabling students to apply skills from math, language arts, science, and social studies in a cohesive, student-directed learning process. These experiences help students develop creativity, critical thinking, and a sense of ownership over their work, preparing them for more advanced, self-guided learning in Upper School and beyond.
