Basecamp, the first step in the Impact Learning Journey, is where we ensure that these needs are met.

Basecamp prioritizes individualized learning experiences with tailored educational experiences, coaching rather than lecture, and the flexibility of self-paced learning. It's an approach that aims to combine academic rigor with personalized support to help students master the fundamental skills needed to succeed while fostering independent thinking and creativity.

Foundational Learning and Understanding. At Basecamp, students engage in foundational learning to master the essential content, concepts, skills and standards. This means that students acquire a strong understanding of the core principles of various subjects like reading, writing and math. This understanding lays the foundation for progressively more immersive and experiential learning.

Personalized and Customized Learning Strategies. Unlike many traditional modes of education, Basecamp tailors the learning experience to the individual student. Even as we teach these fundamental core skills, each student's unique strengths, interests and learning styles are taken into consideration to personalize their educational journeys.

Self-paced Learning. Basecamp's self-paced learning approach allows students to progress at their own speed while still meeting State educational standards and preparing them for their journey beyond The Academy. Self-paced learning ensures that students have a thorough mastery of each concept and skill before moving on to the next and honors each student’s comfort level and individual learning pace.
