Making School Stress-Free for the Entire Family

A Stress-Free School Experience

Sending your child to school shouldn’t be stressful. Yet, every day we hear stories of bullying, violence and intolerance of all kinds, not to mention lackluster academic performance and inconsistent educational standards. In a quest to find a better fit for each of their families, Michelle P. and Karen L. brought their children to Hampstead Academy.

While some of their reasons for choosing our school may differ, they share the very similar experiences of having finally eliminated stress from the school experience not only for their attending children, but for their entire families.

Michelle, Danny & Matty

Michelle's sons, Danny, age 9, and Matty, age 6, are in their second year at Hampstead Academy. Prior to enrolling, the boys went to Sparhawk Academy which closed in June 2023. Seeking a similar hands-onl education experience, Michelle asked her trusted teachers for advice and found our school.

While it was difficult to accept that their school was closing, Michelle and her family toured Hampstead Academy and recognized the similar experiential approach to learning and the close-knit, attentive environment. Today, the family is comfortable and happy with their choice and school is once again stress-free.

“It’s great waking up each day and having my kids be excited to go to school. That has honestly been my favorite part of our experience at Hampstead Academy. We have enough stress in life without having to worry about dropping our kids off at school every day,” says Michelle. “My kids go to school with smiles on their faces and come home with smiles on their faces. It’s all we can really ask for.”

The growth and learning at Hampstead Academy is continuous and above all, the kids are happy. Danny, who’s in third grade, loves working on computers and art projects. Matty, who’s in first, loves dance and is reading like a champ. Danny loves math and is making huge improvements in all academic areas while being engaged with and excited about the lessons.

“We excavated bones!” Danny shouted out with barely contained excitement as he described a recent science project that involved a mock archeological dig on the school grounds.

Karen, Alex, & Zach

Karen’s family came to Hampstead Academy looking for a smaller environment and a more hands-on, flexible approach for her oldest son who has Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). The individualized and interactive approach to learning was ideal for him.

“As a parent, you wonder all the time ‘are my kids happy?’ I never worry about that when they’re at Hampstead Academy. My boys are always happy and eager to go, they never complain about school. It’s wonderful.”

When the time came for younger sibling Zach to go to school, they enrolled him at Hampstead Academy as well. Despite having different needs than his brother, Zach has also thrived at the school.

Today, Alex is 12 and is in 7th grade. Zach is in 4th grade. Both boys have been at Hampstead Academy since the start of their academic careers and the whole family couldn’t be happier about that.

“The teachers are really nice and I have a lot of friends here,” says Zach. “I love being outside and learning. We have a lot of fun!”

And when it comes to academic readiness, Karen also has full confidence in the Hampstead Academy learning model and staff.

“I love [Head of School] Rebecca and trust her direction. The small class sizes allow the teachers to know exactly what each student needs to work on and give them the individualized attention to reach their goals,” explains Karen. “They know who needs what and when they need it. It’s great.”

“I love the community aspect here. I would never feel comfortable sending my kids to a school where they didn’t feel safe or comfortable or happy,” she continues. “At Hampstead Academy, I know they’re surrounded by care and support from this amazing staff plus they’re getting a great education.”
