Student Directed, Applied Learning for Students Grades K-4
Lower School
LOWER SCHOOL ACADEMIC HUBS
Our lower elementary academic hub expands on our philosophy of student-directed, applied learning. Students are afforded the freedom to progress at their own pace and learn from others in our multi-age classrooms. Rather than force a child into an artificial construct determined by arbitrary rules, we encourage students to learn at their own pace and place them according to their natural academic, social, and emotional growth. This results in better outcomes all around, with a happier, more confident, and better educated student ready to take on the challenges of the complex world in which we live.
Our certified teachers guide rather than lead the class, allowing for the natural development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills as students tackle a multitude of various inquiry-based learning projects. Our IMPACT learning model extends learning beyond the classroom into the community to promote connection and stewardship, offering experienced-based learning opportunities not possible within the confines of a traditional classroom.
New England’s First and Only IMPACT School
Hampstead Academy recognizes, celebrates and cultivates the unique potential of each individual student. All students at Hampstead Academy progress at their own pace, free from artificial deadlines and constructs, enabling fuller and deeper understanding of core language, math and social skills. As students progress, more independent, immersive and experiential learning is introduced, allowing them to put these fundamental skills to work in real world applications. Our IMPACT learning model enables students to develop into compassionate and creative critical thinkers, problem solvers and leaders.
Standard test is still used at Hampstead Academy for higher Grades as one of our tools for the purpose of tracking student's academic growth and guiding the teachers to create individualized progress plan to prepare our students for future learning at any next levels.
