UPPER SCHOOL ACADEMIC HUBS

Building upon the strong core of foundational skills built in our Lower School Academic Hubs, our fully immersive Upper School Academic Hub gives students the independence to explore and develop their strengths and passions to become the creative problem solvers and leaders of tomorrow. As in our Lower School, students are placed in multi-age groups rather than traditional grade levels to allow them to progress at their own academic, social, and emotional pace.

Through self-directed individual and team-based projects, as well as internships and other community-based learning opportunities, knowledge and inquiry skills are developed more fully and with greater permanence than through traditional classroom learning. Upper School students graduate with a portfolio of work that attests to the knowledge and skills gained during their time at Hampstead Academy, providing a passport to the next step in their educational journey, wherever that may take them.

Learning Through Experience, IMPACT Learning for Students Grades 5-8

Hampstead Academy recognizes, celebrates and cultivates the unique potential of each individual student. All students at Hampstead Academy progress at their own pace, free from artificial deadlines and constructs, enabling fuller and deeper understanding of core language, math and social skills. As students progress, more independent, immersive and experiential learning is introduced, allowing them to put these fundamental skills to work in real world applications. Our IMPACT learning model enables students to develop into compassionate and creative critical thinkers, problem solvers and leaders.

Standard test is still used at Hampstead Academy as one of our tools for the purpose of tracking student's academic growth and guiding the teachers to create individualized progress plan to prepare our students for future learning at any next levels.

Inquiry Learning for Upper School Students

Our Upper School encourages students to ask questions and investigate real-world problems.  Students are able to explore their natural curiosities for more immersive and experiential learning.
